When my friend Lindsey from Soiree Signatures Calligraphy & Designs said she needed help shooting some new images of her gorgeous work, I didn’t hesitate one bit!
Pulled a few styling items from around the house, stole some dried branches off a crepe myrtle – because yeah, we’re cool like that – and enlisted the help of Mr Murphy (Lindsey’s adorable chocolate lab!!!) and off to work we went!
A bit of background on Lindsey is in order. She was introduced to calligraphy at age 9 when she received a set for her birthday – and with lots of practice, she was able to teach herself the art of calligraphy as a young child. Years later she is practicing calligraphy professionally while also using her wicked awesome graphic design skills and training to produce fresh and creative work.
Soiree Signatures sort of happened by accident. After receiving a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design from The University of Alabama in 2003, it all took shape when friends began asking Lindsey to design and address their wedding invitations. As word of her talent spread amongst the circle of friends, Lindsey found herself creating custom wedding stationery as a side business before she knew it.
Her work has been featured in both local and national publications, such as Mobile Bay Bride Magazine (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Annual Publications), Gulf Coast Bride Magazine and TheKnot. Soiree Signatures was also recently selected as The Knot’s Best Of Weddings for 2014, 2015 and 2016!
This is what came out of our nothing-planned-but-everything-accomplished photo shoot. And we couldn’t love it more!!!
